Qoreboard ignites way to boost productivity and happiness with employees
On January 1st of 2019, Mike Midgett, a
marketing and communications leader and Jeremy Johnston, a digital technology leader
in the Houston area, launched what could be one of the most disruptive
technology companies of the year. Focused on developing a tool that leads to
better performance from employees by inspiring them to win, Mike and Jeremy created
Qoreboard to assist managers in developing their staff in a fun and
culture-focused way.
For the past 25+ years Mike Midgett has been an executive
for some of the biggest telecommunications and industrial companies in the
world. As a sales, marketing and culture leader for these companies, Mike
worked with teams to develop both external and internal marketing campaigns
that focused on acquiring customers and bringing on the best talent to grow the
business. During this time, Mike saw a universal flaw that was hindering growth
of employees across each company. Midgett realized that often, companies
promoted their top performers to manage teams in hopes of replicating that
individual’s success on a larger, more profitable scale. The consistent problem
with this is two-fold. You immediately lose your top producing employee since
they are no longer speaking directly with customers and you are left with an
ill prepared manager who doesn’t know how to get other people to do what they
can do naturally. Mike saw that newly promoted Managers were rarely trained on
how to lead and communicate effectively with their teams. These individuals
obviously knew how to build business and hustle, but beyond that, were never
trained on how to duplicate their formula for success.
Throughout Mike’s career, he continued to see the same
communication pain points in every company he worked for. He knew there had to
be a way to support these managers in a way that brought better communication,
success, and overall transparency between them and their teams. So, in 2018, Mike decided to follow his
passion and began formulating a plan to fix this problem. His first step was to
find a technical partner with experience in building large scale software
systems. On a whim, Mike reached out to his neighborhood Facebook group asking
for resources in the tech space. That’s where Mike met Jeremy Johnston, a
former Amazon Application Engineering Manager, with exactly the right skills
Mike was looking for in a partner. The two hit it off and immediately began
whiteboarding their future product. When Qoreboard finally launched in 2019,
Mike and Jeremy secured 1.6 million dollars of seed investments and brought on
a team of developers and designers to create a tool that assists managers with
employee communication, while also giving the users daily goals to achieve in
the workplace.
Qoreboard is essentially a goal-focused platform for any
employee at an organization to use to transform their day-to-day activities
into goal-driven performance. So how does this work? From a user perspective,
when you clock-in for work at the beginning of your day, the first thing you
see on your computer is your Qoreboard. The web-based platform shows you three
main datasets to assist with overall performance. First, you can see visuals on
how you have been performing each day, giving you the ability to hone in on
where you can grow. Secondly, you can see what goals you are set to achieve
that day. The best part about this is as you get closer and closer to achieving
your goals, Qoreboard will send you notifications on where you are in a
positive and motivational manner. Lastly, Qoreboard gives managers the ability
to send personal messages to employees and automates the process by
recommending the right message to send at the right time to the right employee.
This is an amazing feature that gives leadership the ability to congratulate,
motivate and train their team as each day progresses while automating the work
and making it easier for the leader to do their job more efficiently. Qoreboard
is meant to be a tool that assists and augments the job of any leader at any
level. As a manager you can also see real-time success data from your team to
have a higher level of performance statistics.
Since rolling out Qoreboard this year, customers that have
implemented the platform have already seen a massive improvement in sales,
internal communication and employee retention. ThirdLove, a rapidly growing
woman’s apparel company based out of San Francisco was an early adopter of
Qoreboard for their customer contact center and has seen massive success in
using the platform. With hundreds of Fit Stylists working in their center,
Thirdlove needed a way for management across the country to be able to
communicate with the employees and set goals for them to achieve. Qoreboard has
been pivotal in this equation, giving each employee at ThirdLove the ability to
know where they are each minute of the day, and focus on ways to outperform
their goals in a healthy manner. As ThirdLove continues to expand their
implementation of Qoreboards across their company, Mike Midgett and his team
have continued to build out the system to support all their customers on every
platform possible. Not only will the mobile version of Qoreboard be coming out
next month, the system also integrates with dozens of third-party platforms,
making it a true end to end solution.
Mike and Jeremy are proud to call Katy, Texas home and look
forward to continuing to build Qoreboard’s headquarters there, with the hope of
growing a tech-hub in their city.
